The Romulan commander who often clashes with the Enterprise is Tomalak.
Commander Tomalak is a recurring Romulan antagonist in Star Trek: The Next Generation, portrayed by Andreas Katsulas. He commands Romulan warbirds and repeatedly confronts Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the USS Enterprise-D near the Neutral Zone. Tomalak is a skilled military officer whose polite, controlled manner often masks threats, deception, and aggressive strategic goals.
He is introduced in “The Enemy,” when a Romulan vessel enters Federation space after a scout ship crashes on Galorndon Core. Tomalak claims the incursion was a misunderstanding, but the situation becomes a tense confrontation involving an injured Romulan officer and the Enterprise crew. He returns in “The Defector,” where Picard counters Tomalak’s demand for surrender by revealing that Klingon Birds-of-Prey are secretly surrounding the Romulan ships.
Tomalak also appears in “Future Imperfect” and “All Good Things...,” TNG’s series finale. The other names in the answer choices belong to different Romulan figures or characters: Jarok is the defecting admiral in “The Defector,” Sela is a Romulan commander with a separate political role, and Tebok is associated with an earlier Star Trek storyline. Tomalak’s repeated encounters with Picard make him one of TNG’s most recognizable Romulan adversaries.
