Jackson Storm is Lightning McQueen's main rival in Pixar's Cars 3.
Storm represents a new generation of highly engineered racers. His advanced design and performance allow him to defeat established competitors, including McQueen, which begins the film's central conflict about aging, technology, and the future of racing.
Unlike Chick Hicks, who is McQueen's rival in the first Cars film, Storm is introduced as a younger and more technologically advanced competitor. This distinction is important because Cars 3 focuses on McQueen's struggle to remain competitive rather than on the original Piston Cup rivalry.
Armie Hammer provides Storm's voice. The character's black-and-blue appearance and confident attitude emphasize the contrast between Storm's modern racing approach and McQueen's older racing identity.
