What is the name of the raptor called Blue in the Jurassic World films?

Blue is a Velociraptor in the Jurassic World films.

Blue is the oldest and most prominent member of Owen Grady’s trained raptor group. She is identified by the blue stripe running along her body and becomes a recurring dinosaur character in Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World Dominion.

The film series uses the name Velociraptor for animals that are much larger than scientifically known Velociraptor fossils. Paleontologists generally consider the movie raptors to resemble Deinonychus more closely in size and appearance.

That scientific distinction is a frequent source of confusion. In the franchise’s fictional taxonomy, however, Blue and her companions are explicitly called Velociraptors, making Velociraptor the canonical answer.
