What is the name of the protagonist in Assassin's Creed Rogue?

Shay Patrick Cormac is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Rogue.

Shay begins the game as an Assassin during the Seven Years' War but becomes disillusioned with the Brotherhood after a devastating mission. He later joins the Templars and hunts former allies, making Rogue the first main series game to center its story on a character who defects from the Assassins to the Templar Order.

Released in 2014, Rogue connects several parts of the series. Its North Atlantic setting links it to the naval gameplay of Black Flag, while its narrative leads toward the events surrounding Assassin's Creed III and Unity. Shay also encounters characters from earlier games, including Haytham Kenway.

Shay is sometimes mistaken for Edward Kenway because both are seafaring protagonists, or for Haytham because both work with the Templars. They are separate characters from different generations and storylines.
