Money Tigers is the pitch show that inspired the British series Dragon's Den.
Money Tigers was the English title used for the Japanese format on which Dragon's Den is based. In that format, entrepreneurs present business proposals to wealthy individuals and seek investment in return for an ownership stake. The programme structure became the foundation for later adaptations around the world.
The British title changed the investor metaphor from tigers to dragons, but the essential premise remained: a founder must defend a valuation, explain the business model and persuade one or more investors to commit money. Negotiations can include equity percentages and competing offers.
Shark Tank is a related American adaptation, not the Japanese original. The Apprentice is a different reality-television format centred on employment and business challenges. “Dragons' Lair” is not the original title. These distinctions matter because many international editions use different names for the same underlying format.
