What is the name of the original Kid Flash?

The original Kid Flash is Wally West.

Wally West first appeared as Kid Flash in The Flash #110 in 1959. He gained super-speed after being exposed to the same electrically charged chemicals that had transformed his uncle-by-marriage, Barry Allen, into the Flash. Wally then became Barry’s teenage sidekick and adopted a smaller version of the Flash’s costume.

Wally was also one of the young heroes who formed the Teen Titans, alongside characters such as Robin and Aqualad. He remained Kid Flash for decades before taking over the Flash identity after Barry Allen’s apparent death in Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985.

A common mix-up is Bart Allen, Barry Allen’s grandson, who later used the Kid Flash name after serving as Impulse. Wallace “Ace” West is another later Kid Flash and is a cousin of Wally. Neither is the original: Wally’s 1959 debut makes him the first character to hold the mantle.
