The operations manager played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World is Claire Dearing.
Claire is introduced as the senior administrator of Jurassic World, a dinosaur theme park built on Isla Nublar decades after the disaster at the original Jurassic Park. Her job involves overseeing the park’s attractions, staff, guest experience and day-to-day operations.
At the beginning of the film, Claire treats the dinosaurs as carefully managed exhibits and worries about attendance and visitor expectations. That corporate perspective is challenged when the Indominus rex, a genetically engineered hybrid, escapes its enclosure and causes a park-wide emergency.
Claire is distinct from Owen Grady, the former Navy man and velociraptor handler played by Chris Pratt. She is also not Simon Masrani, the park’s owner and chief executive. In later films, Claire leaves park management and becomes an activist seeking to protect dinosaurs, while also raising Maisie Lockwood with Owen.
