The newspaper where Nancy and Jonathan work in season 3 of “Stranger Things” is The Hawkins Post.
Set during the summer of 1985, the season begins with Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers interning at Hawkins’ local newspaper. Jonathan works mainly as a photographer, while Nancy hopes to become a reporter. Instead, her male supervisors largely assign her errands and dismiss her story ideas, reflecting the newsroom’s sexist workplace culture.
Nancy’s investigation changes when she hears about strange, diseased rats troubling Hawkins resident Doris Driscoll. She and Jonathan follow the lead, discovering evidence connected to the Mind Flayer’s return. Their investigation eventually brings them into conflict with editor Tom Holloway, who fires them after they pursue the story without approval.
A common mix-up is Nancy’s later connection to the Hawkins High school newspaper, which appears in season 4. “The Hawkins Gazette” is also sometimes mentioned in discussions of the show, but for the season 3 workplace shared by Nancy and Jonathan, the canonical name is The Hawkins Post.
