Jackson Storm is the new-generation racer who challenges Lightning McQueen in Cars 3.
Storm represents a technologically advanced generation of racers. He is faster, highly data-driven, and confident that older competitors such as McQueen can no longer keep up. His dominance at the start of the film creates the central crisis: McQueen must improve or risk being pushed out of top-level racing.
Armie Hammer provides Storm’s voice in the English version. The character’s dark blue-black design and sharp aerodynamic shape contrast with McQueen’s familiar red body and older racing style.
Jackson Storm is not the same racer as Chick Hicks, McQueen’s principal rival in the first Cars. Chick is a green veteran racer whose aggressive tactics help define the original film’s championship conflict. In Cars 3, Storm’s challenge is primarily about technological change, training methods, and the changing standards of professional competition.
