Rusted Root performs “Send Me on My Way,” a song prominently featured in the 2002 film Ice Age. The American band released the song on its 1994 album When I Woke, years before the film used it.
In Ice Age, the track accompanies the animals’ journey and helps give the film a distinctive musical identity. Its upbeat sound became closely associated with the movie for many viewers, especially during scenes involving Manny, Sid, and Diego traveling together.
The song is sometimes confused with the film’s end-credit song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” performed by The McGuire Sisters. Those are separate musical selections. Rusted Root is the group connected specifically with “Send Me on My Way.”
