Major Jackson “Jax” Briggs is an Earthrealm military officer and a leading member of the Special Forces. In the series’ story, he receives cybernetic arms after suffering severe injuries, giving him enhanced strength and a distinctive visual identity. His mechanical arms also support his powerful grappling and ground-slam attacks.
Jax first appeared in Mortal Kombat II, where he was introduced as a Special Forces major searching for Sonya Blade. His military role places him in repeated conflict with criminal organizations, Outworld forces, and supernatural threats. Sonya is his longtime colleague and fellow Special Forces operative, but Jax is the character most directly associated with the cybernetic arms.
