What is the name of the monster truck with 10‑foot‑tall tires?
Answer
Bigfoot 5
Answer
Bigfoot 5
The monster truck with 10-foot-tall tires is Bigfoot 5. Built in 1986 by Bob Chandler’s Bigfoot team, it was designed specifically to carry enormous Firestone Tundra tires originally made for a military overland train.
The tires measure 120 inches in diameter and weigh about 2,400 pounds each. With dual tires fitted, Bigfoot 5 stands roughly 15 feet tall, measures about 20 feet wide, and weighs more than 38,000 pounds. Its extreme proportions earned it recognition as the world’s tallest, widest, and heaviest pickup truck.
A common mix-up is Bigfoot 1: that is the original truck and the vehicle most associated with the birth of the Bigfoot name. Bigfoot 5 is a later purpose-built machine, used mainly as a display vehicle rather than a regular competition truck. The 10-foot tires were also temporarily used on other Bigfoot trucks, but Bigfoot 5 was constructed specifically to handle them.
