What is the name of the main lounge on the Enterprise-D?

The main lounge on the Enterprise-D is Ten Forward. Located at the front of the saucer section, it is the ship’s social gathering place and offers a broad view through large windows of the surrounding stars.

Guinan, played by Whoopi Goldberg, became Ten Forward’s best-known bartender and proprietor during much of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Captain Picard regularly visited her for conversation, advice, and the occasional unusual perspective. The room served both practical and dramatic purposes: crew members could relax there, while important character moments unfolded away from the bridge.

A common mix-up is confusing Ten Forward with the holodeck, which created simulated environments, or Sickbay, the medical facility. Quark’s Bar belongs to Deep Space Nine, not the Enterprise-D. The name “Ten Forward” is a directional reference: the lounge is situated in the forward part of deck 10.
