The main character in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Eivor.
Eivor is a Viking raider who leaves Norway with a clan and helps establish a settlement in England during the ninth century. The player can choose a masculine or feminine presentation for Eivor, but the character's name remains Eivor. The story follows alliances, conflicts, and exploration across Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.
Valhalla was released in 2020. Its historical narrative takes place during the Viking expansion into England and includes figures such as Alfred the Great, who ruled Wessex. Eivor also becomes connected with the Hidden Ones and the continuing Assassin-Templar conflict.
Sigurd is Eivor's adoptive brother and a major story character, while Basim is a Hidden One whose role becomes increasingly important. Neither is the game's principal playable character. Valhalla also contains modern-day sequences centered on Layla Hassan.
