Valarin is the language Tolkien created for the speech of the Valar.
In Tolkien’s mythology, the Valar are powerful spiritual beings who enter and shape the world of Arda. Their native language is Valarin, also called Valian in some discussions. Tolkien presents only a small amount of Valarin vocabulary and describes it as difficult for the Elves to understand.
Valarin is distinct from Quenya, the high Elven language, and Sindarin, the language most widely spoken by Elves in much of The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien’s linguistic system includes relationships among these languages, but they are not interchangeable.
The surviving Valarin material appears mainly in linguistic notes and in The Silmarillion’s broader mythological context. Because Tolkien developed some languages more fully than others, Valarin has far fewer recorded words than Quenya or Sindarin.
