The investment-pitch room in the British programme Dragons' Den is commonly called The Den.
Entrepreneurs enter The Den to present their businesses to the investor panel. They typically state how much money they want and what percentage of the company they are prepared to offer in exchange. The dragons then question the founder about sales, profit, costs, valuation and plans for growth.
The name is also built into the programme’s title: the investors are described as dragons, while the room becomes the symbolic setting in which entrepreneurs must defend their proposals. This language helps separate the British series from adaptations that use other imagery, such as sharks.
Viewers sometimes substitute “the boardroom” because that term is strongly associated with other business reality shows. In Dragons' Den, the programme’s own established name for the pitch setting is simply The Den.
