The investment panel in the UK television series Dragon's Den is called the Dragons.
The name is part of the programme's central imagery: entrepreneurs enter a den to face wealthy business investors who decide whether to offer funding. A Dragon may invest alone, invite another Dragon to join, negotiate different terms or decline the opportunity.
The panel has changed repeatedly since the series began. Early Dragons included Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard; later members included Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett.
The term is specific to the British title and related adaptations using the Dragon imagery. The US version, Shark Tank, calls its investors Sharks instead. “The Investors” describes their role but is not the programme's canonical collective name.
