What is the name of the iconic green monster truck with a graveyard theme?
Answer
Grave Digger
Answer
Grave Digger
The iconic green monster truck with a graveyard theme is Grave Digger.
Dennis Anderson built the original Grave Digger in 1982 as a mud-racing truck from salvaged parts. Its name came from Anderson’s boast that he would use his battered truck to “dig” a grave for the competition. After a scheduled monster truck failed to appear at a local show, Anderson volunteered to crush cars, helping launch Grave Digger’s career in the sport.
The truck gained its recognizable black graveyard paint scheme in 1986. The design features green flames, dripping red lettering, tombstones, a haunted house, a full moon, and a skull-shaped ghost. Red headlights became another signature detail.
Grave Digger is a team name rather than just one single vehicle. Multiple trucks compete under the name, allowing the team to appear at events around the world. It is also commonly confused with Bigfoot, another legendary monster truck and one of its historic rivals.
