The ice cream parlor where Steve and Robin work in season 3 of Stranger Things is Scoops Ahoy. It is located in the food court of Starcourt Mall, Hawkins’s new shopping center.
Scoops Ahoy has a nautical theme: employees wear sailor-style uniforms, and the shop’s name echoes the maritime greeting “ahoy.” Steve Harrington takes the job after his glamorous high-school reputation fades, while Robin Buckley works alongside him. Their sarcastic chemistry quickly becomes one of the season’s standout friendships.
The shop is also central to the season’s mystery. Steve, Robin, Dustin, and Erica use Scoops Ahoy as a base while decoding a Russian transmission connected to the underground Soviet facility beneath Starcourt Mall. After the mall is destroyed during the season’s finale, Steve and Robin lose their jobs and later work together at Family Video. Scoops Ahoy was fictional, although Baskin-Robbins created real promotional tie-ins.
