What is the name of the final novel in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the final novel in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

Bloomsbury published the book in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2007. It concludes the central story of Harry’s conflict with Lord Voldemort and follows Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they search for Horcruxes rather than returning to Hogwarts for a normal school year.

The title refers to three legendary magical objects: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone and the Cloak of Invisibility. Together, they form the Deathly Hallows of the children’s tale “The Tale of the Three Brothers.”

The novel was adapted into two films, released in 2010 and 2011. Readers sometimes confuse the seventh book with the eighth film, but the novel itself is one volume; the two-part movie adaptation expanded its final story across two releases.
