The Potters lived in the fictional village of Godric’s Hollow.
Godric’s Hollow is a wizarding settlement in the west of England in the Harry Potter series. James and Lily Potter lived there with their infant son Harry before Lord Voldemort attacked the family on 31 October 1981. Harry survived the attack, while his parents were killed.
The village is also associated with several important historical figures. It was named after Godric Gryffindor, one of Hogwarts’ four founders, and it was the birthplace of Albus Dumbledore. The graveyard contains the graves of James and Lily Potter and later becomes an important location in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Godric’s Hollow is not the same place as Little Whinging, where Harry grows up with the Dursleys, or Hogsmeade, the wizarding village near Hogwarts. These locations serve different roles in the series’ geography and story.
