Edenia is the fictional realm ruled by Sindel in Mortal Kombat.
Sindel is presented as Edenia’s queen and as the mother of Princess Kitana. Edenia is a realm associated with beauty, long life, and an established royal culture, but its political history becomes entangled with Outworld’s conquests and Shao Kahn’s expansion.
After Edenia is absorbed into Outworld, Sindel’s story becomes more complicated. Her identity, death, resurrection, and allegiance are portrayed differently across timelines and games. Those changes can make the realm connected with her seem inconsistent to players who know only one continuity.
Edenia is distinct from Outworld, the realm ruled by Shao Kahn, and from Earthrealm, the home of characters such as Liu Kang and Johnny Cage. Its royal family and military defenders remain recurring parts of Mortal Kombat lore.
