What is the name of the fictional location where the adventure takes place?

The fictional location where the adventure takes place is Paradise Falls.

Carl Fredricksen and his late wife, Ellie, dream of moving their house to Paradise Falls, a spectacular South American waterfall. Carl finally attempts the journey by attaching thousands of balloons to the house, fulfilling the promise he made to Ellie.

The film presents Paradise Falls as a remote waterfall surrounded by dramatic cliffs and tepui-like landscapes. Carl and Russell land on a mesa opposite the falls and then drag the still-floating house across the wilderness. The location becomes the setting for their encounters with Kevin, Dug, and Charles Muntz.

Paradise Falls is not one of the real waterfalls offered in the wrong answers. Iguazu Falls, Victoria Falls, and Angel Falls are genuine natural landmarks, while Paradise Falls was created for Up. The fictional setting was inspired in part by the dramatic landscapes of Venezuela.
