How many Academy Awards did Up win?

Up won two Academy Awards.

At the 82nd Academy Awards, honoring films released in 2009, Pixar’s Up won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score. Pete Docter and Bob Peterson were associated with the animated-feature win, while composer Michael Giacchino received the score award.

The film made Oscar history beyond its victories. Up became only the second fully animated film nominated for Best Picture, following Beauty and the Beast, and it was also the first Pixar film to receive that nomination. Its other nominations were Best Original Screenplay and Best Sound Editing.

Viewers sometimes confuse the film’s five nominations with its two wins. Up competed in five categories but did not win Best Picture, screenplay, or sound editing. Its two victories were part of Pixar’s continuing success in the Best Animated Feature category, following wins for Ratatouille and WALL-E in the previous two ceremonies.
