What is the name of the fictional company controlling the Animus in the Assassin's Creed series?

Abstergo Industries is the fictional company controlling the Animus in the Assassin's Creed series.

Abstergo is a powerful modern corporation secretly controlled by the Templars. It develops Animus technology and uses genetic memories to locate Pieces of Eden and uncover information about the Assassin Brotherhood.

The company presents itself publicly as a multinational enterprise with interests in areas including pharmaceuticals, technology, and entertainment. Its corporate identity helps the series connect historical adventures with the modern-day Templar–Assassin conflict.

Abstergo should not be confused with the Assassin organization. The Assassins oppose Abstergo's plans, while the Templars use the corporation as a modern instrument of control. The later Helix platform is also an Abstergo product, not a separate rival company.
