The fictional bar where the vampires gather in Quentin Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn is the Titty Twister.
The film begins as a crime thriller about brothers Seth and Richard Gecko, who take hostages while attempting to reach Mexico. After arriving at the remote Titty Twister, the story abruptly changes into a vampire action-horror film.
Tarantino wrote the screenplay and played Richard Gecko. Robert Rodriguez directed the movie, while George Clooney played Seth. This division of roles is a frequent source of confusion because Tarantino is strongly associated with the film’s writing and performance.
The bar’s name is part of the film’s deliberately exaggerated grindhouse style. Its location and clientele conceal the supernatural threat until the vampires reveal themselves after nightfall.
