The female Soviet operative who assists Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3 is EVA.
EVA presents herself as a KGB agent and motorcycle rider who helps Snake during Operation Snake Eater. She provides intelligence, equipment, transportation, and repeated assistance as Snake moves through Soviet territory. Her role makes her one of the game’s most important allies.
EVA’s identity and motives are more complicated than her initial introduction suggests. She is actually working for the Chinese government and is pursuing information connected to the Philosophers’ Legacy. The game gradually reveals that her mission overlaps with Snake’s while remaining politically separate.
EVA is sometimes confused with The Boss, Snake’s mentor, or with Para-Medic, the support specialist who advises him over Codec. She is also distinct from later versions of the character in the series, where her identity and legacy become important to the history of Big Boss.
