What is the name of the Elvish city where Frodo recovers after the Nazgûl attack in The Lord of the Rings?

The story behind the answer

Frodo recovers in Rivendell after the Nazgûl attack in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

Rivendell is an Elvish refuge founded and ruled by Elrond. It lies in a hidden valley east of the Misty Mountains and is also known by the Sindarin name Imladris. After the Witch-king wounds Frodo on Weathertop, Aragorn and the Hobbits reach Rivendell, where Elrond’s healing prevents the Morgul blade from taking permanent control of Frodo.

Rivendell later hosts the Council of Elrond. Representatives of several peoples discuss the danger of the One Ring, and the decision is made that it must be destroyed in Mount Doom. Frodo becomes the Ring-bearer, with eight companions forming the Fellowship.

Rivendell is distinct from Lothlórien, another Elvish realm farther south. Elrond rules Rivendell, while Galadriel and Celeborn rule Lothlórien.
