Answer
Bayek of Siwa
Answer
Bayek of Siwa
Bayek of Siwa is the Egyptian Medjay who stars in Assassin's Creed Origins.
Bayek is a protector of his community in Siwa, an oasis in Egypt. The story follows his investigation into the forces responsible for a personal tragedy, gradually revealing the origins of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later becomes the Assassin Brotherhood.
Origins is set in Ptolemaic Egypt during the first century BCE, when Greek and Egyptian political traditions overlap. Bayek's wife, Aya, is also central to the narrative and works alongside him in the struggle against powerful enemies. Although Aya is a major playable character in selected sequences, Bayek is the principal protagonist.
The title “Medjay” refers to an elite protector or law-enforcement role associated with ancient Egypt in the game's setting. Bayek's home, Siwa Oasis, is therefore part of his formal identification. Origins was released in 2017 and serves as a prequel to the Brotherhood's later historical development.
