The Dragon-type Elite Four member in the Hoenn region is Drake. In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, Drake is the fourth and final Elite Four member faced before the regional Champion. His team specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon, including powerful species such as Altaria, Flygon, Kingdra, and Salamence, depending on the game version.
Drake’s design reflects his seafaring background: he dresses like a pirate and is associated with life at sea. His name is also closely connected to “drake,” an old word for a dragon, making it an especially fitting choice for a Dragon-type specialist.
A common mix-up is confusing Hoenn’s Drake with the similarly named Drake from the Pokémon anime’s Orange Islands arc. That character is the Orange Crew leader, not a member of Hoenn’s Elite Four. Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake make up Hoenn’s original Elite Four lineup, while Steven or Wallace serves as Champion depending on the version.
