What is the name of the Ditto-led researcher in Pokémon Pokopia?

The Ditto-led researcher in Pokémon Pokopia is Professor Tangrowth.

Professor Tangrowth is a Tangrowth who studies the damaged environment and investigates why humans and Pokémon left the region. The character meets Ditto early in the story and helps frame the game’s central mystery.

The title “Professor” connects the character to a familiar Pokémon tradition of researchers who explain the world and guide the player. Professor Tangrowth is not a human professor, however; the character is a Pokémon adapting to a world without people.

Players may confuse Professor Tangrowth with Professor Oak, the human researcher from the original Kanto games. Oak belongs to the classic Pokémon setting, while Professor Tangrowth is a distinctive Pokopia character created for its post-apocalyptic storyline.
