Dragon's Den investor Tej Lalvani was chief executive of Vitabiotics.
Vitabiotics is a British company that develops and sells vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements. Lalvani became its chief executive after joining the family business founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani, and his business background shaped his investment perspective on Dragon’s Den.
The company is sometimes confused with Holland & Barrett, Healthspan or Seven Seas because all are associated with supplements or health products. They are separate brands and companies. Vitabiotics is particularly associated with product lines including Pregnacare, Wellwoman and Perfectil.
Lalvani joined the British Dragon’s Den panel in 2017. His appearance brought a consumer-health and branded-products perspective to a programme whose investors otherwise have backgrounds ranging from property to fashion and technology.
