What is the name of the city where Assassin's Creed Revelations is primarily set?
Answer
Constantinople
Answer
Constantinople
Constantinople is the primary setting of Assassin's Creed Revelations.
Ezio Auditore travels to Constantinople in the early sixteenth century while searching for keys connected to Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's legacy. The city is presented as a major crossroads of the Byzantine and Ottoman worlds, with districts on both sides of the Golden Horn and a large population of merchants, soldiers, and political factions.
The historical Constantinople was captured by the Ottoman Empire in 1453 and remained a central imperial city. Revelations takes place during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II, while his son Selim and other real figures also appear in the story.
The game's Constantinople should not be confused with Masyaf, which is important to Altaïr's sections, or Cappadocia, another region visited by Ezio. The modern city is now known internationally as Istanbul, but the game uses the historical name Constantinople.
