The castle home of House Baratheon in the Stormlands on Game of Thrones is Storm's End. It is the ancestral seat of the Baratheons and stands on the coast of Shipbreaker Bay.
In the mythology of Westeros, Storm's End was founded by Durran, the first Storm King. Legend says he angered the gods by marrying Elenei, whose divine parents unleashed storms that destroyed his early castles. His seventh attempt endured, giving the fortress its name and reputation.
The castle is famous for defenses that have never been conquered by storm or siege. Its enormous curtain wall is described as roughly 100 feet high and at least 40 feet thick, with an even thicker seaward side. The structure contains a massive drum tower rather than several conventional towers.
During Robert's Rebellion, Stannis Baratheon held Storm's End through a year-long siege. A smuggler named Davos Seaworth secretly brought food to the starving defenders, an act that earned him a knighthood—though Stannis punished his earlier crimes by removing several fingertips.
