Baghdad is the main setting in Assassin's Creed Mirage.
Released in 2023, Mirage follows Basim Ibn Ishaq during the Islamic Golden Age. The story is set in ninth-century Baghdad, where Basim joins the Hidden Ones and investigates a conspiracy connected to the Order of the Ancients.
The game's city is divided into historical districts, including the Round City, Karkh, Abbasiyah, Harbiyah, and the Wilderness. This concentrated urban design reflects Mirage's emphasis on stealth, investigation, parkour, and targeted assassinations.
The setting distinguishes Mirage from earlier games associated with Damascus, Cairo, or Constantinople. Damascus is especially prominent in the first Assassin's Creed, Cairo appears in other historical contexts, and Constantinople is the main setting of Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
