What is the name of the Canadian version of the UK television format Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

The Canadian version of the UK television format Dragon's Den is also called Dragons' Den.

The Canadian series premiered in 2006 on CBC. It follows the same central concept: entrepreneurs present businesses to a panel of wealthy investors and seek money in exchange for equity. The Canadian investors are commonly called dragons, preserving the format’s terminology rather than adopting the “sharks” label used by the American adaptation.

The apostrophe is a useful distinction. The British programme is generally styled Dragon's Den, with a singular possessive form, while the Canadian series is titled Dragons' Den, using a plural possessive form. Both titles refer to the panel of dragons.

This is not the same programme as the United States series Shark Tank, although both ultimately belong to the international family of business-pitching formats derived from the Japanese original.
