What is the name of the BBC programme's US counterpart based on the Dragon's Den format?

The story behind the answer

Shark Tank is the US counterpart based on the Dragon's Den format.

The American programme adapts the same broad international business-pitch concept: entrepreneurs present companies to wealthy investors and seek capital in exchange for equity. In the United States, the investors are called Sharks rather than Dragons.

Shark Tank premiered on ABC in 2009. Its panel has included prominent American business figures such as Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec and Lori Greiner, although the panel changes between episodes.

The Apprentice, The Profit and American Inventor are other American business-related programmes, but they are not the US counterpart of Dragon's Den. Shark Tank also differs in its exact casting, branding and broadcast history, even though the pitch-and-negotiation structure comes from the same format lineage.
