The business-pitching room in the BBC television show Dragon's Den is called the Den.
Entrepreneurs enter this room to present their businesses directly to the investor panel. They normally begin with an introduction and a financial request, then answer questions about sales, valuation, costs, ownership and future plans.
The name is central to the programme's branding. The investors are called Dragons, so the room in which they sit is referred to simply as the Den. The title also reflects the intimidating atmosphere created when a founder faces several experienced businesspeople at once.
The Den should not be confused with the programme's production studio or with a conventional boardroom. Although the set resembles a large business meeting space, its official and familiar name is the Den.
