The Rooks are the organization led by Jacob and Evie Frye in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
Set in London during the Industrial Revolution, Syndicate follows twins Jacob and Evie Frye as they challenge Templar control over the city. Jacob forms the Rooks to oppose the rival Blighters, a gang aligned with Templar interests.
The Rooks function as both a narrative faction and a gameplay system. Their members can be recruited and upgraded, helping the Frye twins seize territory, protect allies, and fight hostile gangs. This gang-focused structure reflects the game’s emphasis on London’s criminal underworld and industrial districts.
The Rooks should not be confused with the Assassin Brotherhood itself. Jacob and Evie remain Assassins, while the Rooks are their local street network and fighting force. Syndicate was released in 2015.
