What is the name of the Assassin's Creed Rogue protagonist who joins the Templars?

The story behind the answer

Shay Cormac is the Assassin's Creed Rogue protagonist who joins the Templars.

Shay Patrick Cormac begins the game as an Assassin working with the Colonial Brotherhood during the eighteenth century. After a disastrous mission connected to an ancient Precursor artifact, he becomes disillusioned with the Brotherhood's methods and eventually defects to the Templar Order.

Rogue was released in 2014, the same year as Assassin's Creed Unity. Its story is designed to show the Assassin–Templar conflict from the opposing side, making Shay one of the series' clearest playable examples of a former Assassin. The game links several eras and characters, including Haytham Kenway and Achilles Davenport, while its primary locations include the North Atlantic, the River Valley, and New York.
