Ezio Auditore is the Assassin's Creed protagonist who becomes a mentor in Renaissance Italy.
Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the central character of a trilogy of games: Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. His story begins in fifteenth-century Florence, where he becomes an Assassin after the execution of his father and brothers. Over time, he develops from a young nobleman into a skilled leader of the Italian Brotherhood.
In Brotherhood, Ezio works primarily in Rome and rebuilds the Assassin Order while opposing the Borgia family. In Revelations, he travels to Constantinople and investigates Altaïr's legacy. The games portray his aging process over several decades, giving him one of the longest continuous character arcs in the franchise.
Altaïr is the protagonist of the first game, while Edward Kenway and Arno Dorian lead later historical stories. Ezio's title as Mentor and his Renaissance setting make him distinctive among the series' protagonists, even though other Assassins also eventually hold leadership roles.
