What is the name of the Assassin's Creed organization that opposes the Templars?
Answer
Assassin Brotherhood
Answer
Assassin Brotherhood
The Assassin Brotherhood is the organization that opposes the Templars throughout Assassin's Creed.
The Brotherhood is a secretive network dedicated to protecting free will and resisting attempts to impose absolute control. Its members use stealth, intelligence, and targeted action rather than ruling openly. The Templars are its long-running ideological opponents, seeking order and control through political and institutional power.
Across the series, the Brotherhood appears under different historical names and structures. Altaïr reforms it after the events of the first game, Ezio rebuilds it in Renaissance Italy, and later protagonists join local branches or allied cells. The recurring creed is often summarized by the line, “Nothing is true; everything is permitted.”
Several other factions can cause confusion. The Order of the Ancients is an earlier Templar precursor, Abstergo Industries is a modern Templar corporation, and the Cult of Kosmos is a separate Greek-era organization. None is the general name of the Assassin organization.
