What is the name of the Assassin's Creed II protagonist from Florence?

Ezio Auditore is the Assassin's Creed II protagonist from Florence.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze begins the game as a young Florentine nobleman in late 15th-century Italy. After his family is caught in a political conspiracy, he becomes involved with the Assassins and spends years pursuing those responsible.

Assassin's Creed II follows Ezio across several Italian locations, including Florence, Monteriggioni, Venice, and Forlì. His story continues in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations, making him the central figure of the series' first major character trilogy.

He is distinct from Altaïr, the protagonist of the original game, and from Desmond Miles, the modern-day character who relives ancestral memories. The full name “Ezio Auditore da Firenze” is often used in reference material, while “Ezio Auditore” is the usual short form.
