In Assassin’s Creed II, Ezio first meets Leonardo da Vinci in Florence.
Florence is the opening major city of Ezio’s historical story and one of the central locations in the game’s depiction of Renaissance Italy. After the tragedy that affects Ezio’s family, he leaves Florence with his mother and sister and travels toward the countryside, where Leonardo becomes an important ally.
Leonardo helps Ezio interpret coded pages and improve several pieces of equipment. His inventions are presented through the game’s fictional historical narrative, including the hidden-blade upgrades and the flying machine used during the Venice sequence.
Venice is another major city in Assassin’s Creed II, which is why it is a frequent wrong answer. Rome belongs especially to Brotherhood, while Milan appears in the broader Italian historical setting but is not the city where Ezio first meets Leonardo in the game’s story.
