Alamut is the Assassin order’s headquarters in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Mirage follows Basim Ibn Ishaq before and during his transformation from a street thief in ninth-century Baghdad into a Hidden One. After leaving Baghdad, Basim trains at Alamut, a mountain fortress associated with the Hidden Ones in the game’s historical setting.
The fortress has deep connections to Assassin’s Creed lore. Masyaf, another fortress associated with the Assassin order, is especially prominent in the earlier games involving Altaïr. Because both locations serve as important headquarters, players sometimes confuse their names.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released in 2023 and is set mainly in Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The game deliberately returns to a more focused stealth and assassination structure than several recent role-playing entries. Alamut therefore functions both as a physical training center and as a symbol of Basim’s formal entry into the Hidden Ones.
