What is the name of the Animus subject played by the player in Assassin's Creed Origins?

The story behind the answer

Bayek of Siwa is the principal Animus subject controlled by the player in Assassin's Creed Origins.

Bayek is a Medjay, a protector and law-enforcement figure in ancient Egypt. The story follows his investigation into threats against his family and his growing opposition to the Order of the Ancients, a precursor to the later Templar tradition.

Origins is set mainly during the first century BCE, in the final decades of Ptolemaic Egypt. Bayek's wife, Aya of Alexandria, is also central to the narrative and participates directly in the creation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later becomes the Assassin Brotherhood.

Aya is not the game's primary playable character, although she has important playable sequences. Basim belongs to Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Kassandra is one of the protagonists associated with Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
