What is the name of the ancient organization that serves as the Templars’ predecessor in Assassin’s Creed Origins?

The Order of the Ancients is the organization that serves as the Templars’ predecessor in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Origins presents the Order as a secretive group seeking political power and control in Ptolemaic Egypt. Its members operate through influence over rulers, officials, and military figures rather than acting as an openly declared institution.

Bayek and Aya investigate the Order after personal tragedy draws them into a larger conspiracy. Their campaign against its members contributes to the formation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood.

The Order of the Ancients is not the same organization as the Hidden Ones. The Hidden Ones represent the early Assassin movement, while the Order is the ideological and historical predecessor of the Templars. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey instead features the Cult of Kosmos, a different secret organization in the series’ chronology.
