What is the name of the actor who played Geordi La Forge?

The actor who played Geordi La Forge is LeVar Burton.

Burton portrayed Geordi throughout all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, from 1987 to 1994, and reprised the role in four feature films and Star Trek: Picard. Geordi begins the series as the Enterprise-D’s helmsman before becoming its chief engineer.

The character is blind from birth and uses a fictional device called a VISOR, which interfaces with his brain and lets him perceive parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. In later films, the VISOR is replaced by ocular implants. Burton’s performance made Geordi one of the franchise’s best-known engineering officers.

A common mix-up is confusing the actor with Geordi’s fellow crew members: Brent Spiner played Data, Michael Dorn played Worf, and Wil Wheaton played Wesley Crusher. Burton was also widely known for playing Kunta Kinte in Roots and hosting Reading Rainbow.
