Shaun Pulfrey's detangling hairbrush company featured on Dragons' Den is Tangle Teezer.
Pulfrey developed the brush after working as a hair colourist and noticing the difficulty of removing knots without pulling or damaging hair. Its distinctive flexible teeth became the central selling point, separating it from conventional brushes and combs.
The company appeared on Dragons' Den in 2007. Pulfrey did not secure an investment on the programme, but Tangle Teezer subsequently grew into an international beauty brand. This is a useful distinction from a common television assumption: appearing on the show does not mean that a pitch resulted in a deal or that the business's later success depended on a Dragon's funding.
