What is the name of Serena Williams's former coach from 2012 to 2022?
Answer
Patrick Mouratoglou
Answer
Patrick Mouratoglou
Serena Williams’s former coach from 2012 to 2022 was Patrick Mouratoglou. The French coach began working with Serena after her early-round defeat at the 2012 French Open and remained associated with her coaching team for a decade.
Mouratoglou helped guide Serena during one of the most successful periods of her career. Under their partnership, she won multiple Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open singles titles, as well as Olympic gold in 2012. Serena also returned to the world No. 1 ranking during this period.
Mouratoglou is sometimes confused with Serena’s family members, especially her father Richard Williams and mother Oracene Price, both of whom played major roles in her development. Sascha Bajin was another important member of Serena’s team, serving as a hitting partner and assistant coach before becoming a head coach elsewhere. Mouratoglou also founded the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France.
